Secured Chime Visa® Credit Card review

No credit check, no interest, no annual fee and no minimum deposit. A way into a credit file for people the traditional cards turn down.

We are not a bank and we do not issue credit cards. Terms below come from Chime's published materials and were checked on August 27, 2026. The secured Chime Visa® Credit Card is issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A.

The verdict

It removes the two things that block people with damaged credit: the score requirement and the hard inquiry. Activity is reported to all three bureaus, which is what actually moves a score. What it will not do is clean up the late marks and collections already sitting on your file, and it ties you to Chime's checking account.Jump to:The full review

Pros and cons

What we like

  • No credit check and no hard inquiry to apply

  • No annual fee, no interest and no late fees

  • No minimum security deposit

  • Reports to all three major bureaus

What to watch

  • Requires a Chime Checking Account and a qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more

  • The 5% cash back depends on a qualifying direct deposit

  • No intro APR offer, because there is no interest to waive

  • It does not repair negative marks already on your report

The full review

The Chime card works differently from the others here. You move money from your Chime Checking Account to the card, and that amount becomes what you can spend. Because you are spending funds you already hold, there is no balance to carry and no interest to pay.

To open one you need an active Chime Checking Account and a qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more, from an employer, payroll provider or benefits payer. Bank transfers, Venmo, Cash App and mobile check deposits do not count. Once both conditions are met, approval is effectively automatic and no credit check runs.

With a qualifying direct deposit you can also unlock 5% cash back in a category of your choice each month, which is unusual for a secured card. The real value, though, is the monthly reporting to all three bureaus, which builds the payment history a thin file is missing.
